on the Daulton Jones Benefit BMX Jam that went down a little over a week ago here in Charlotte.

The most thanks of all goes to all the riders, spectators, and friends who came out to the event and donated all the cash that will help Daulton and his family so very much. You folks showed me again why bmx is the most awesome sport out there.

Daulton Jam = $1300

The Daulton Jones Benefit BMX Jam yesterday was a complete success. A great turnout, perfect weather, and lots of awesome bmx going down. I am completely exhausted and have tons of info, photos, and more to report on the entire weekend over the next day or so.
We raised over $1300 which went straight to the Jones family to help with the tremendous costs associated with Daulton’s care. Daulton, Phil and his family were completely overwhelmed and it was great to see Daulton and he be able to spend the afternoon watching everyone ride. There was a long jump contest, highest air, 2 rounds of footdown in the bowl, and a best trick contest, along with tons of raffles and giveaways. It was an amazing fun day for all in attendance.
There’s also a Fender Guitar amp donated to the cause that will be on Ebay shortly, along with two special edition pairs of Nike6.0 shoes, all proceeds to the Jones family again. More on that here in the next few days. Also, for those who couldn’t make it but would still like to donate, a Paypal donation account is in the works for continuous giving.
Hats off to all the hard work put in by Zach Rogers, BJ Wolfe, Karl Poynter and the Hardcore Sportz crew, Leigh Ramsdell and Adam Banton, Nik Pawlak, and shouts to everyone who came out and supported the event.

Recently Eastern Rider Phil Jones’ little brother Dalton Jones was paralyzed in an accident. He is recovering and Phil and his father are facing enormous bills and costs associated with Dalton’s care. The Charlotte BMX Community is coming together to lend a helping hand in raising some much-needed cash for Phil and his father in their time of need.
SUNDAY OCTOBER 11th - GRAYSON SKATEPARK - CHARLOTTE, NC
1pm till Dark - $10 jam to ride all afternoon and win some rad prizes and help out.
Pads and Helmet are required to ride the park, so be sure to bring yours.
The park is located at the Naomi Drenan Recreation Center - 750 Beal Street, Charlotte NC 28211

$1 to enter best trick and $2 to enter best run. winner of each event gets the pot for the event. were also gonna do a footdown tournament, only 1st place gets a prize in that and its free to enter.

Every year, me and some friends from Pennsylvania take a road trip as a way to kick off summer and catch up with one another. This year, a few Charlotte locals met up with us a few days of the trip along with some of the guys from Greenville SC.

2 years ago today one of my best friends Brett Hosley was killed in an accident in wyoming. Tons of you knew Brett, and even if you didn’t, you probably rode with him at some point between raleigh, greensboro, and boone nc. Brett was an amazing person, with one of the most positive attitudes of anyone in bmx. He was always down to ride, hang out, share a laugh or a good story. Brett was an amazing artist, and was well on his way to completing his degree in art at Appalachian State, where a memorial is located at an area on campus Brett liked to work on his art.
Everyone misses you tons Brett, but we all know that you are shredding it up, and that you always will be remembered and honored with every session we have. Rest in Peace buddy.

so word has it that the rumors of tickets being handed out for bmx at the new marsh creek concrete park in raleigh haven’t quite panned out as expected.
there’s always constant bickering on negsrc.com about the topic. officially, bikes are not allowed, and tickets are supposed to be more than $50. click over there for the newest updates on the sitch.
